A History of Limousine...
It all started in the 1700’s when in some form or another, the concept of a chauffeured vehicle has been in existence. The word limousine is derived from the name of a French region "Limousin".
The first limousine to run on machine was developed in 1902, in which it was designed such that the driver sat outside under a covered compartment. In 1930 limousines really started to take off and they were basically used to transport guests of hotels from the airport to the hotel and thus also used to show them the sightseeing tours.
Soon after, the six door limousine came into existence. These were typically funeral cars; limousines with time became more and more popular. They later were used to take top stars, politician, presidents, all important ambassadors and other VIP’s from one destination to another.
Limos were really popular in the western countries and the rest of the world was not aware of it unless visited this western countries. But with globalisation more and more countries across the globe are accepting the fact that even they want to go with the time and thus limos are now also a part of Middle East and Asian countries.
Today people still feels that limousines are still for rich and famous, but the time has changed and thus the customers as well. Now everyone can afford to hire a limousine as with time and competition between limo hire companies. Most of the companies are being competent and thus coming down on prices.
Limousines are used for various reasons from partying to social events and from school proms to hen nights.
